With the faith of Job in his heart and lost strays on his mind, Hank sees the maverick called “Fear”. The cowboy pastor knows this renegade must be overpowered before its damage becomes severe and permanent.

You can't run from everything
We all face fear. At times, fear motivates us. At times, fear paralyzes us.
You know you can’t face this. But when you turn that fear into prayer, you are going to find you can do it! Pray with a thankful heart, and pray with all of your heart.
We are told in the book of Philippians 4:6, 7
“Be anxious for nothing. But in everything by prayer and supplications with thanksgiving let your request be known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.”
Be anxious for nothing. Make your request known to God. This is home for me.
Recently I was at the Extreme Bull Riding competition, and a young bull rider, Jarred Ford, was on the short-go. He came out of the chute and had a good strong ride, but, toward the end, he began to slip. But he didn’t leave his ride. His spur caught in the rigging. You could hear the fear in the crowd as the bull spun around with Jarrod not able to get off. The bull tossed him around like a rag doll. No doubt about it, he was in danger of severe injury or worse.
Jarrod is one of those new breed of Christian cowboys, and I later asked him what was going through his mind while it was happening. He said that the funniest thing, the strangest thing, was in that moment, he just decided to pray. He put it into God’s hands.
“As I look back on it,” he said, “what better time is there to pray? And I couldn’t believe I was so calm; praying to God to take care of me; to help me out.”
“Peace of God surpasses all understanding and will guard your hearts and minds.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 tells us:
“Be strong and of good courage. Do not fear nor be afraid of them. For the Lord our God goes with you. He is the one who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
He will be there for us. Do not be afraid. We have heard it in the Psalms.
“Though I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil. I fear nothing because God walks with me.”
We learn in Deuteronomy 31:7 that Moses called Joshua and said to him, “In the sight of all Israel, for you must go with his people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them. And you shall cause them to inherit it. And the Lord, He is the one who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear nor be dismayed. He will be with you.”
You cannot let fear guide you. You cannot let fear drive you. You cannot let fear be your sole motivator.
Hopefully the words in today’s message can help you let God help you erase you fears.
